History of House Music – Documentary
Apr 27th
In the beginning there was Jack … and Jack had a groove, And from this groove came the grooves of all grooves.
And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldly declared “Let There Be House” and House music was born.
Every wondered how House Music was started and developed from the 80′s to today?
Here’s part 1 of an excellent and in-depth Documentary, here’s the whole playlist here
Tune of the Week – Breakfast – Remember
Apr 27th
Tough one this week, a few trance tracks to decide over (mostly Reverse – Distant Destiny) but in the end I went with Breakfast’s new track – Remember. It has a similar sound to “The Sunlight” but it still has a different and uplifting melody and it’s sure to feature in a lot of mix-sets and radio shows, Sied Van Riel played it during his ASOT400 set at Godskitchen, Birmingham.
It’s out now on Flashover Recordings together with “After Midnight” but that’s a track I’m not very keen on.
Born To Funk – You Rock Da House 2009
Apr 26th
Born Da Funk have recently released a rework of their 2005 track ‘You Rock Da House’ and it’s an excellent funky tune to feature in your mixes or just to listen to.
You can download the original 2009 mix as well as a number of other remixes at AudioJelly here
A new Tune of the Week will also be posted up on the site on Monday.
Gareth Emery – Exposure/Metropolis
Apr 23rd

Gareth Emery is set to release another amazing double Trance EP – Exposure and Metropolis on Garuda Records. Exposure has had a lot of plays at gigs on the trance radio shows and looks set to be huge while Metropolis is equally as good and was the first track in his set at ASOT400 – Birmingham. Can’t wait ’til this gets a release around mid May.
Other good tracks from Gareth Emery: This is That, More than Anything, Another You Another Me (Vs Lange), Soul Symbol.

Tune of the Week – John O’Callaghan – Find Yourself
Apr 21st
The first in a new feature on the site, my tune of the week – the best track I’ve downloaded or heard each week.
This week it’s John O’Callaghan’s Find Yourself. Another vocal trance track from the Irishman and the Cosmic Gate remix has already had plays on the A State of Trance radio show. I prefer the original as I really enjoy the vocals by Sarah Howells.
It’ll be released in May 2009 along with O’Callaghan’s new album – “Never Fade Away”. The track is the album opener and also features previous hot vocal releases such as Surreal and the hugely successful Big Sky.
