I was influenced to start mixing because of my passion and love for House and Trance music, I used to go clubs regularly, saw my first gig in June 2006 (Tiesto’s In Search of Sunrise 5 party in Brixton, London) and all of this inspired me to try mixing myself. I began at around that time using PC software and a cheap Hercules control. The kit was like a toy but it helped me early on to make simple mixes and to learn how to fade/mix between the songs.

In September 2006, after  a lot of thinking and shopping around the internet for the best equipment for my low budget, I bought my first setup – a pair of Numark Axis 4 CD Players and a DM3050 3-channel mixer.

I could then practise beatmatching and mixing more without the aid of auto-sync and a wave-form in Virtual DJ software. It was difficult at first but after 4-5 months I was confident enough to record and upload mixes on the internet.

In March 2007, I had enough money to then upgrade to better cd players, Stanton C.314′s, which were packed with excellent features such as effects and sampling. Also I changed my mixer to a Vestax VMC-002 XL.

You can read more about my equipment over the last couple of years on my Setup page

The type of music I like is funky and vocal soulful house, Electro kind of dominated house a year or two ago but I didn’t really get into it. I also like progressive, vocal and uplifting trance.
