Midi Keyboard & FL Studio 8

I thought I’d try and have a go at producing music and I’ve just bought a cheap M-Audio Oxygen 8 v2 Midi keyboard to work with FL Studio 8 software.
I’m going to try and learn a lot over the next few months and it’ll be a while before I put a whole track together! For now I’m just messing around and trying to get used it and to make some decent intro beats.

Twitter, I wasn’t really sure what it was about or the whole point of it, write 140 letters or less and tell everyone what you’re doing!? Sounded like a very basic version of Facebook but I realise now what the whole fuss is about, I think it’s great reading updates from DJ’s like Armin Van Buuren, Steve Angello, Markus Schulz and Ferry Corsten!

Markus Schulz followed off from Van Buuren and he had a tough job if he wanted to beat the last 2 hours from Van Buuren, it was a mad 2 hours but the crowd began to slowly leave the main stage, I took a breather but was instantly back down there again when I heard him mix in Rafael Frost’s Red!
I then left during Kandi’s set so hardly got a chance to see him, I was knackered (it was a mad night!)

The main man was up next after Emery, Armin Van Buuren himself, and I thought the roof was going to come off to be honest! I’ve never been so cramped in a club which was so energetic, how I didn’t get elbowed in the side of the face I don’t know! I watched a bit of the video feed from the Germany gig the night before and the crowd seemed to just stand there during Emery’s set, it bwas the complete opposite here!
Stand out tracks for me from Armin were Man on the Run early on, which the crowd sang along to, an awesome moment, then straight after that was another awesome vocal from Cosmic Gate – Not Enough time! DJ Eco’s Lost Angeles, Andy Blueman – Everlasting, Vast Vision feat. Fisher – Everything (Aly & Fila Remix) were others I enjoyed the most.

Gareth Emery was next on after Van Riel and I was looking forward to his set, he was superb the night before and he delivered again tonight, but not quite as awesome as in Germany. He included 2 of his new productions (Metropolois and Exposure) which are both top choons! Made of Love was also played again, hands in the air singing along again!

Sied Van Riel was next up to follow on from Arnej as the crowd built up, and he played some great tracks, Breakfast’s Remember and Sied Van Riel’s own M.M.E were some of the best but topping them were Ferry Corsten’s Made of Love, the crowd sang along, and it went down so well it was played again later on by Gareth Emery! After Made of Love was another track I absolutely love, DJ Eco’s Borealis, which is in my latest mix (you can listen and download at the temporary link here)

I had the massive fortune of being just a 2 hour drive away from 1 of 3 of Armin Van Buuren’s A state of trance parties across Europe, and despite the small size of the club, the night was mindblowing!
It began with a 2-hour-ish drive (probably longer due to traffic) and then the added time of finding the club amongst the back streets in Digbeth.
We found it, had a few pints in the local pub on the corner of the street before a 40-minute wait until the doors opened at 9.30pm.
Arnej opened the night and started with an empty crowd really as people started to enter the club and get to the bar, drink prices seemed pretty average really!
It was an expected set from Arnej, very slow but it’s the first set playing in front of a very small crowd, he also looked disinterested at first but it picked up a lot for the last 20 minutes.

Hello and welcome to my new website, thanks for visiting. Here you can find information about me, as well as my mixes and other media, a few blogs about new releases and music I’m enjoying at the moment. I’ve moved and created a new website as musicv2.com has now closed down.
It’s a blog style website and along with mixes I’ll also post up new tracks I’ve bought recently and tracks I’m enjoying but are yet to be released!
