Tune of the Week
The best tune I’ve heard or downloaded each week, new or upcoming releases.
Tunes of the Week
Jun 24th
I didn’t get round to updating the site last week with my tune of the week, so here’s last week’s and this week’s.
Last week – Moonbeam – About You (Trance)
This week – Hook n Sling – The Best Thing 2009 (TV Rock Mix) (House)
Tune of the Week – Fonzerelli – Dreamin’
Jun 8th
I absolutely loved Moonlight Party a few years back by Fonzerelli and I still do now. I first heard it at Tiesto’s In Search of Sunrise 5 party and loved it. Since then his productions have been nowhere near as exciting, but Dreamin’ is uplifting track with a great Summer sound.
A great melody and vocals which I’m not all that fussed about, Tiesto played the track on his Club Life radio show. There’s also a decent P.H.A.T.T Trance remix of Dreamin’
Other tracks by Aaron McClelland include Toto under his Brazen alias, I Love Music and Spirit plus a host of remixes.
Tune of the Week – Pagano – Back To The Future
Jun 1st
This week’s favourite tune is a new House May 2009 release – Danny Verde’s remix of Pagano – Back To The Future.
A progressive beat, an exciting uplifting melody and some interesting vocals, listen below:
Tune of the Week – Sinan Kurtulus – This Love
May 26th
This week’s top tune is a funky upbeat track by Sinan Kurtulus, one half of the Gimbal and Sinan duo who are releasing some top tunes for free on their website here
Their releases are mostly disco, funky and french house styles and are well worth a listen, and best of all they are available as free downloads.
Tune of the Week – Ferry Corsten – We Belong (TAUTR)
May 19th
This week’s tune of the week is Tritonal’s Air Up There Remix of Ferry Corsten recent release We Belong.
You can buy this track at: beatport.com
Tune of the Week – Tritonal – Piercing Quiet
May 11th
This week’s Tune of the Week is a fantastic vocal track from U.S Duo Tritonal, Piercing Quiet which was released recently on Flashover Recordings.
I loved February’s release ‘Daybreak’ and this is another excellent vocal trance track by this year’s busy producers.
Cristina Soto’s vocals together with the uplifting melody makes it an excellent track, listen below:
Tune of the Week – Discofamily – It Just Won’t Do
May 4th
Thought I’d have to go with a house track for this week’s Tune of the Week as they’ve all been trance so far.
I have to say I haven’t found many ‘bombs’ to download lately, mostly just half decent funky house.
Discofamily have released their own version of Tim Deluxe’s classic ‘It Just Won’t Do’, and while they’ll never beat the original, this is a decent electro version that will go down well in a club as a peak-time track.
Tune of the Week – Breakfast – Remember
Apr 27th
Tough one this week, a few trance tracks to decide over (mostly Reverse – Distant Destiny) but in the end I went with Breakfast’s new track – Remember. It has a similar sound to “The Sunlight” but it still has a different and uplifting melody and it’s sure to feature in a lot of mix-sets and radio shows, Sied Van Riel played it during his ASOT400 set at Godskitchen, Birmingham.
It’s out now on Flashover Recordings together with “After Midnight” but that’s a track I’m not very keen on.
Tune of the Week – John O’Callaghan – Find Yourself
Apr 21st
The first in a new feature on the site, my tune of the week – the best track I’ve downloaded or heard each week.
This week it’s John O’Callaghan’s Find Yourself. Another vocal trance track from the Irishman and the Cosmic Gate remix has already had plays on the A State of Trance radio show. I prefer the original as I really enjoy the vocals by Sarah Howells.
It’ll be released in May 2009 along with O’Callaghan’s new album – “Never Fade Away”. The track is the album opener and also features previous hot vocal releases such as Surreal and the hugely successful Big Sky.
