Deadmau5 – Some Chords
May 9th
It’s been a while since I liked a Deadmau5 release, but he’s back on form with this Electro House banger – “Some Chords” which is top of the Beatport charts.
Deadmau5 seems to be like marmite, either you love him or hate him. I enjoyed his early releases such as Not Exactly, my favourite from him, but I haven’t enjoyed many other of his tracks since. The Reward is Cheese and Ghosts n’ Stuff were good though.
The haters will hate it no doubt, but I think it’s a decent electro house that will go down well on the dancefloor. Nothing special like his early tracks, but decent none-the-less.
Rex Mundi – Kalua Islands
Apr 10th
Rex Mundi released a big vocal Trance tune last year in “Nothing At All” – a big track in A State of Trance 400 and one of my favourites of 2009, he’s followed this with “Kalua Islands”. No vocals and not up to the high standard of “Nothing At All” but still a good track:
Tritonal feat. Cristina Sota – Piercing Quiet
May 7th
A new entry to my top 10 list this week, Tritonal have again released another stunning vocal track and it’s no surprise that already it’s #2 in the Beatport Trance charts.
The American duo have been with a number of releases this year such as Daybreak, Lunarium, Lights over Austin, Northern Aura and have continued their trend of uplifting vocal trance with ‘Piercing Quiet’, which has everything from excellent vocals from Cristina Sota to an uplifting melody.
Piercing Quiet has recently been released on Flashover Recordings on beatport
