DJ Software – Traktor Pro

I’ve just recently installed Traktor Pro on my system and it’s an excellent piece of software for DJing.
Though I’m not a big fan of DJing using a laptop and software, I simply use mine to choose tracks and make playlists, it’s useful to have to prepare tracks, analyze tracks (break points etc) maintain your digital music collection and so on.
I currently use USB sticks rather than CDs and will continue to do so rather than switch to software. The Denon DNS-1200 are superb CD players that allow you to connect USB sticks saving me the hassle of burning cds and keeping an ever-growing collection of 300+ cds.
I began DJing by checking out software to get used to the basics (beatmatching, basic blends etc) and used Virtual DJ, but Traktor outclasses it with it’s added features and far-superior professional interface.
Trance Mix – September 2009

After two months since my last uploaded mix, I thought it was finally time I recorded another for your listening pleasure (hopefully!)
A 70-minute mix of some of my favourite recent trance releases. I have to say, it’s a bit off in places which I’m disappointed with, I’ll have to do another, improve one soon, but anyway, have a listen and let me know what you think.

Tune of the Week – Sinan Kurtulus – This Love

This week’s top tune is a funky upbeat track by Sinan Kurtulus, one half of the Gimbal and Sinan duo who are releasing some top tunes for free on their website here
Their releases are mostly disco, funky and french house styles and are well worth a listen, and best of all they are available as free downloads.

An hour long mix with a blend of vocal and funky house, a few club floorfillers such as Day n Nite and Loveshy plus Eddie Thoneick’s cover of the classic ‘Deeper Love’. All mixed rather quickly to try and throw in extra tunes!
