During a session of trying out the effects on Traktor Pro and which of them go well together, here’s a cool feature I came across this week. Using the gater and Peak filter effect together, create a ‘scratch’ effect which you can manipulate using the two effects simultaneously. I recorded this using a mouse with a computer so I was unable to demonstrate using both effects at the same time.
You can use this with any track, just create a Chained effect with Peak filter and Gater, turn Effect to full and have some fun!
I bought this remix from djdownload.com but only discovered afterwards that it’s only 2 mins – not long for DJ use, so I decided to loop it a bit to make it 4 minutes+. Nothing special here, just a bit of intro/outro looping to play it at gigs.
A brand New 10-minute Video Mix, with a mix of Trance and House, starting with Stoneface & Terminal – Moment, before kicking into Tiesto’s remix of Tweak Your Nipple by Faithless, before finishing with one of the biggest House tracks of the Year – Swedish House Mafia – One.
I’ve recently bought an Imac, so I can finally record video and audio together, so there’ll be a lot more video mixes coming soon.
This has got “bomb of a tune!!” written all over it, a massive remix that’ll be an epic track at peak times in the clubs, you’ve got to check this out: (Last week’s tune of the week)
Episode 1 in my series of Live recordings from my monthly gigs at the Loft bar in Swansea. Just over 3 hours long with a mix of electro, funky, progressive and commercial house plus some trance classics. Far from my best work really, a bit off in places but the crowd seemed to enjoy so I hope you do too.

Deadmau5, it seems people either love him or hate him. I liked his early productions but I haven’t followed his work for a while now because it just seemed like he was trying to release as many tracks as possible, most of which were very much forgetable.
I’m not much of a fan, but Michael Woods’ Remix of “I Said” by Deadmau5 and Chris Lake is Pete Tong’s first Essential Tune of 2010. Played on his Radio 1 show and Deadmau5 started his NYE’s set off with the track.
The Original Mix is far from anything special, the main melody being the only bit worth listening to (in my opinion), but Michael Woods adds a whole new dimension to the track, which is what it needed. It’s a massive peak time Electro House BOMB! Yet to be released but listen to it below:
